Logistics Planner- Domestic Transportation-(Remote Atlanta, GA Metro Area) or (On-Site Savannah, GA)

POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to ensure that freight from vendors picks up and delivers on time at the right cost, and that the system accurately reflects status of all loads. To achieve this, logistics planners must work with vendors, carriers, and DCs to ensure all parties are executing as desired and that each party is accountable for failures. Each planner is responsible for a single geographic region and is the business owner of that region. The average planner will oversee 40-100 loads per week and be accountable for multi-million in annual freight spend.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- 25% Each Planner is the leader/business owner of their region to include, but not limited to, Dispatching, Customer Support, and Carrier Onboarding
- 25% Ensure all freight is tendered within 30 minutes of being made available & that load tenders follow the desired tendering strategy, to maintain optimal cost. Communicate, identify and log any recurring failures of the tendering strategy so they can be corrected
- 25% Ensure all loads are picked up and delivered on time. Review the loads in trouble report each day to identify loads that are delayed from pickup or delivery, and troubleshoot them until resolved
- 20% Ensure all vendors/carriers needed to operate a region are set up properly in TMS with regards to location IDs, payment terms & tendering strategy. Also responsible for Vendor On-boarding
- 5% Support emergency operations (hurricane response, ice storm recovery, etc.), sometimes requiring work at irregular times (weekends, nights) & irregular durations (double shifts, etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2 years required, 3 years preferred
- Require High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Suite
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems; IE PortPro
- Rail ramp and port operations

The HR Manager will lead and direct all functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruitment, interview processes and hiring of new staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. In this role, you are using a strategic mindset analyzing industry and employment data/trends to develop and implement solutions that focus on the attraction, retention, and development of our team members.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Working with the administrative team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues that arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of performance shortfalls, policy violations, wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which will include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with all management and supervisory staff to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Manages all employee compensations and benefit programs, coordinates with various vendors to ensure benefits are successfully supporting employee needs and trains employees on how to utilize the programs for the maximum benefit of the employee and our client.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of two years of human resource management experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Environment: Hybrid/remote
- Travel: Typically requires overnight travel 5%-10% of the time
